Joshua Hamilton

Hi, I'm Joshua

Hey Again! I'm a Human Systems Engineer with a passion for developing and optimizing complex systems, including organizational systems, technological systems, socio-technical systems, and healthcare systems. My background in Human Systems Engineering, combined with my undergraduate degree in Cognitive Psychology and computer science, provides me with a unique perspective on the interplay between people, technology, and organizations. I'm driven by a desire to improve system performance and enhance human well-being through innovative software and organizational change. I'm particularly interested in applying systems thinking principles to address challenges in healthcare, where I'm focused on improving patient outcomes and optimizing healthcare delivery. I'm eager to contribute to projects that leverage technology and human factors to create more effective and efficient systems.

My initial interest in systems engineering was sparked by my college biology class, where we delved into the world of ecology. Studying ecology revealed to me a profound truth: the fundamental principles governing systems—how they adapt, interact, and evolve—are remarkably consistent across diverse domains, encompassing human, technological, and organizational systems. This realization ignited a fascination within me, particularly with the intricate interplay and evolution of complex systems. I was deeply drawn to the challenge of designing and optimizing systems that not only function effectively but also enhance human well-being. This passion eventually led me to pursue a degree in Human Systems Engineering, where I gained a comprehensive understanding of the intricate relationship between people, technology, and organizations. My academic journey further solidified my interest in applying systems thinking principles to address real-world challenges, particularly within the healthcare sector.
